Bought a new front light for the winter nights

From Halfords, not cheap at £50, but what a beast it is!

It's a Bikehut 1600 Lumen model and the performance is amazing, so much so it is an excellent light on the second most powerful setting, on the most powerful one it can best be described as a hazard to other road users!

The New Rear brake rotor arrived yesterday

And I fitted it, and removed the Swissstop pads for inspection.
They seemed OK, so I sanded the surface and refitted everything, and this time followed the following bedding in procedure

Get up to normal speed and gently apply the rear brake to slow the bike to walking pace.
Do not keep the brake on till the bike comes to a stop
Repeat this procedure at least thirty times , and indeed go easy on use of the rear brake for the first 25 miles.
This is where we are at at the moment and so far the Brake operates very smoothly and quietly indeed and with each application it seems to have a little more grip for the same lever pressure.
At the moment while using both brakes together I am using the front brake to bring the bike to a stop.

The Damage to the old rotor

There is a 2.5mm area of damage at the same position swept by the pads  both outer and inner faces
This damage was caused by my heavy handed braking on the new disc as I was completely unaware of the need to bed the pads in.
This unfortunate lack of information has cost me a new disc and set of Swissstep pads
Never mind it's another lesson learned! the new rotor is looking to have a much more uniform wear pattern!
