Problems with my nearside pedal 750 miles mark

I noticed the left hand one felt rough when turned by hand and stripped it down to find that water had entered the outside seal and corroded both the fixed cup
And the adjustable cone  had a worn area

The inner end fixed cone looked Ok as  does the spindle , though  the actual end has no seal to keep the weather out

Any way the 22 ball bearings were all OK so I rebuilt the pedal and it now spins free, but as a precaution I have bought a pair of new pedals from Halfords, which are virtually identical and only cost £13.99
